Knots, Knives and Nonsense is a day camp for Girl Scouts. The dates of the camp are June 24 – 28 from 9am – 3:30pm and the location will be the East Interlocken Park in Broomfield.
Adult volunteers are needed to help this camp be successful – and your scout gets to attend camp for free if you volunteer for the week! See the volunteer link for more information.
Girls will learn outdoor skills including camp cooking, navigation, basic camp first aid, and camp site setup, plus lots of time for fun, such as trying out the slack line and having epic sponge battles! The camp and all activities are planned by volunteers and Program Aides. Camp activities will help the girls to complete requirements for both new and legacy badges. Campers will bring their own lunch; snacks will be provided, some will be created by the girls!
The camp is appropriate for girls entering grades 1 – 6. Girls who are entering 7th grade to 12th grade, and who have completed their LIA (Leader in Action) and PA training, may continue their leadership experience by being a PAI (Program Aide Intern) or a PA (Program Aide). For more information on becoming a Program Aide, please click here: https://www.girlscoutsofcolorado.org/en/our-program/older-girls/Older_Girl_Leadership_Opportunities.html
Each group of girls at camp is led by an adult Unit Leader and one or more PAs. Girls can request to be placed with troop members or friends, although not all requests can be accommodated.
Camp is open to girls who have not been in a troop previously, but all girls must be registered with Girl Scouts of Colorado prior to the start of camp.
